There are five building blocks or “core numbers” that make up the Numerology of you: your Life Path number, your Expression number, your Personality number, your Heart’s Desire number and your Birth Day number. Each one is based off of your personal birth name and/or birth date and has its own deep-rooted impact on the person you are today. Here we break down the meaning of these core numbers for a better understanding as you prepare to make your own Numerology calculations.

Your Life Path number

The Life Path number is the single most important number in your Numerology chart, because it acts as a blueprint outlining how your life will play out. Opportunities and challenges faced along the way are heavily influenced by the Life Path … as is your general character and course of action as you embark on life’s journey.

Your Life Path number is based off of the numbers in your full birth date. It encaptures your entire being and will never change, and for those reasons, it’s very special.

Your Name / Expression number

While your Life Path number plots your life’s lessons and how you handle them, your Expression number is all about your natural strengths and weaknesses given to you at your time of birth. Often referred to as the Destiny number, as it aims for your goal in life, this number is the foundation on which your Life Path can flourish.

Your Expression number is based off of the numbers that correspond to the letters in your full name, and it reveals the talents and abilities instilled in you at birth.

Your Personality number

Your Personality number is the first impression people get of you. It represents the parts of yourself that you are most ready and willing to reveal, and helps you determine just how much you reveal, and to whom. This number acts as a buffer, screening out some people and situations you don’t want to deal with while welcoming the things in life that relate to your inner nature.

Your Personality number is derived from only the consonants in your name.

Your Soul / Heart’s Desire number

What are the reasons behind your actions? What do you really want in life and love? This is where your Heart’s Desire comes in to play, and it signifies the reasons behind the choices you make in all aspects of your life, from your career to your relationships — the burning fire within.

Your Heart’s Desire number comes from just the vowels in your name — those soft sounds shed light on the inner workings of your more subconscious desires.

Your Birth Day number

Your Birth Day number is just that — the day on which you were born — and it reveals a certain talent that will eventually find its place on your Life Path.

While it’s the most insignificant of the core numbers, the Birth Day number puts a timestamp on the person you are today according to one single aspect that will ultimately impact your life in a big way. Just as you were destined to be born on this specific day, you have been given a certain special gift as a result.

NUMEROLOGY AND ASTROLOGY: HOW THEY FIT TOGETHER

Astrology and numerology are often seen as two different systems. As most people understand it, astrology is the study of influences in relationship to the position of the various prominent celestial bodies. Numerology is the study of the various numbers in our lives, the relationship between them and how they affect us.

Numerology and Astrology both deals with nine major planets Sun, Moon, Jupiter, Uranus, Mercury, Venus, Neptune, Saturn and Mars and their characteristic & features. Each one of these nine planets is assigned numbers ranging from 1 to 9, depending on which planet vibrates to which number.

The fact is, though, that these two systems are not mutually exclusive. They actually go hand in hand.

Numerology in Astrology

Any serious student of astrology will tell you that it’s not merely an art; it’s a science. And any scientist will tell you, the language of science is mathematics. Math, as we know it, is numbers.

Accurate astrological charts and readings require a lot of specific calculations. You have to calculate angles, degrees, aspects and the various geometric relationships between planets and stars to come up with a full birth chart. Triplicities, Quadraplucities, Signs, Houses—all assigned meanings have been based on numbers.

The use of numbers in astrology can’t be avoided. It would be impossible to make sense of a natal chart without at least some understanding of the meaning and symbolism of numbers.

Astrology in Numerology

While astrology is absolutely dependent upon numerology, numerology is only enhanced by astrology. The solar system itself displays a divine connection between numbers and celestial bodies. Each number from 0 through 9 is ruled by a planet, the moon or the sun

Each number is also traditionally associated with an astrological sign of the zodiac. Numerology is a much less complex system than astrology, admittedly; and it’s not required for one to have full knowledge of astrology in order to become adept at numerology. However, an understanding of basic astrology, particularly in understanding the basic planetary influences, can enhance a numerological reading.

WHY TAKING TIME TO REFLECT MATTERS

When was the last time you set time aside to just reflect on life and your circumstances? When was the last time you were able to sit back and on all of the good you’ve experienced and even the sorrows you’ve endured?

Life isn’t naturally slow anymore, as everything has taken up a quick pace over the years. While I have only experienced living in this day in age, I am still somehow strangely nostalgic for the olden days, where life was simple and quiet. Nowadays, we’re not handed the time to reflect anymore, so it’s important that we create those moments on our own.

I have always been someone who enjoys thinking (sometimes a little too much), and because of that I would love to see my generation slow down and get lost in thought sometimes. We all have incredible minds and I think that not taking the time to reflect on life can almost be dangerous. We get so caught up in the hustle and bustle that we end up becoming numb to pausing and deep thinking. But it doesn’t have to be this way.

Over the past few days I have been thinking about what it means to truly reflect and why it’s important to make it a daily habit. So, why does taking time to reflect matter?

Reflection helps give us proper perspective

With how busy life can get in today’s day in age, it’s easy for us to become overwhelmed and worked up. Whether we become overwhelmed with huge life circumstances or the smallest mistake, when we take the time to step back and reflect, we can see the bigger picture more clearly. When we get ahold of ourselves and gain perspective, we can then refocus appropriately. Reflection can also give us time to soak in other’s perspectives, as well

Reflection lets you learn from your past mistakes

None of us lead perfect lives and sometimes we make mistakes along the way. That’s okay, it happens. Instead of letting these mistakes get you down or hinder you from reaching your potential, reflect on them. Figure out where you went wrong and think of ways you can fix that and avoid those mistakes from happening again. Our mistakes and failures can be huge learning tools, we just have to take the time to reflect on them.

Reflection allows you to get great ideas

Some of my most great ideas have come from deep times of reflection on life and all it brings. Some ideas are sparked from passions that I have in my heart and other ideas are ignited from pain and suffering. When you set aside time to reflect, you can unlock some of your greatest ideas that are currently hiding away. Don’t you want to let those ideas flow freely? Don’t you want to see the potential your ideas have? Reflection will always be an important step towards success.

Reflections lets you lend a hand to others

Reflection helps you see past yourself when you need to the most, and that’s a beautiful thing. When you think about what’s going on around you, you can often be brought to the attention of the needs of those you’re around on a regular basis. This gives you opportunity to find ways you can help assist them, even if it’s just by offering them a pep talk or a coffee date. You’ll become more widely aware of those in need when you pause and reflect.

KARMIC DEBT NUMBERS

Numerology is based on the idea that each of us is a spiritual being, or a soul, who incarnates many times in order to further evolve toward higher states of awareness. During our evolutionary path of many incarnations, we have accumulated a wealth of wisdom, but have also made mistakes or have sometimes abused the gifts we’ve been given. To rectify such errors, we may take on an additional burden in order to learn a particular lesson that we failed to learn in previous lifetimes. In Numerology, this is called a Karmic Debt.

The numbers that indicate a Karmic Debt are 13, 14, 16 and 19, and where they are found in your Numerology chart is just as important as their effects. If you have a Karmic Debt Life Path number, for example, the impact will be felt repeatedly throughout your life cycle, but not continuously. But if your Expression number is a Karmic Debt number, you will feel its effect on a more continuous, but less dramatic, basis, affecting mostly your professional/productive life.

If your Heart’s Desire number is a Karmic Debt number, you will have a tendency to make bad choices and decisions in your lifestyle and relationships, though if your Personality number is a Karmic Debt number, its influence will be mostly felt in social interactions and health issues. Found as a Maturity number, the Karmic Debt is felt particularly strong during your late teens and early twenties, as well as your late forties and early fifties (the mid-life crisis).

Certain cycles in the forecasting part of your chart can also be influenced strongly by Karmic Debt numbers. Found as an Essence cycle, a Karmic Debt number can be particularly difficult, and Period and Pinnacle cycles are also vulnerable to Karmic Debt.

When you are calculating your Numerology chart, you may encounter the numbers 1, 4, 5 or 7. These single-digit numbers can be arrived at by adding a variety of two-digit numbers. For example, the number 1 can be derived by combining the double-digit numbers of 10 (1 + 0 = 1), 19, 28, 37, 46 — all of which total to 10, and then reduce to 1. However, only in the case of 19 is a Karmic Debt indicated. Karmic Debts are also associated with the numbers 4, 5 and 7. These numbers can be preceded by an array of two-digit numbers as well, but when the 4 is preceded by a 13, the 5 is preceded by a 14 or the 7 by a 16, a Karmic Debt is also read as part of the single-digit interpretation.

What follows is a description of each of the four Karmic Debt numbers 13, 14, 16 and 19

Karmic Debt number 13

Those with the 13 Karmic Debt may experience much frustration, and will have to work very hard to accomplish any task. Think of it as a consequence of a previous lifetime dominated by laziness, taking advantage of others and similar bad choices.

Obstacles arise for those with a 13 Karmic Debt and must be overcome time and time again. One may often feel burdened and frustrated by the futility of their efforts — there may be a desire to surrender to the difficulties and simply give up on the goal. But success is well within reach; one simply must work hard and persevere in order to reach the goal. Many highly successful people in all walks of life, including business, art and athletics, have a 13 Karmic Debt.

The key to succeeding with the 13 is focus. A temptation with the 13 is to take shortcuts, but too often, that easy success doesn’t come, causing regret and the desire to give up. The result is a poor self-image and the belief that one is incapable of amounting to very much. Order is essential to success with the 13 Karmic Debt. You must maintain a schedule, follow through, keep your environment neat and under control and never procrastinate.

Karmic Debt number 14

The 14 Karmic Debt arises from previous lifetimes during which human freedom has been abused. Those with a 14 Karmic Debt in their Numerology chart are now forced to adapt to ever-changing circumstances and unexpected occurrences. There is an acute danger of becoming a slave to your own freedom through the abuse of drugs or alcohol and overindulgence in food and sex. You must put the reins on yourself. Modesty in all affairs is crucial to overcoming this 14 Karmic Debt

Also important is the need to maintain order in life and to establish your own emotional stability. You must be willing to adapt to the unexpected twists and turns of life while still maintaining your focus on your goals and dreams. Flexibility and adaptability are at the very core of this struggle, and orderliness in one’s immediate environment is crucial to maintaining clarity and focus.

The main key to the 14 Karmic Debt, however, is commitment. Life will resemble a rollercoaster ride, but it will always travel in the right direction, so do not give up on your dreams and goals. Those with the 14 Karmic Debt can experience life to the fullest as long as they maintain a high dream.

Karmic Debt number 16

The 16 Karmic Debt represents destruction of the old and birth of the new. The 16 is about the fall of the ego and all that it has built for itself; it is a cleansing. All that has been constructed and all that serves to separate the person from the source of life is destroyed. Through the 16, reunion with the great spirit is accomplished.

This can be a painful process, because it usually comes after much ego inflation. Life presents challenges to your grand plans and you tend to make choices that seem specifically designed to break down what you have previously built — a self-destructive career choice or an act of stupidity that ruins an otherwise wonderful relationship, for example.

The 16 Karmic Debt is a lost battle and you will likely feel humbled in the face of the collapse that follows. But this humility is the key to later success, because you will learn to follow the intimations of a higher reality, approaching life with an entirely new awareness. It is a life much the better for the fall.

Those with the 16 Karmic Debt must be careful of egoism. Very often, those with the 16 use their highly intuitive and refined intellect to look down upon others, and view the rest of the world as inferior, leading to acute alienation and loneliness.

When the 16 is in one of the Core numbers, this process of destruction and rebirth is a continuous cycle that actually serves to bring you into higher consciousness. The 16 Karmic Debt can be a path of progress and great spiritual growth if it is looked at properly.

Karmic Debt number 16

Those with the 19 Karmic Debt must learn independence and the proper use of power. You will be forced to stand up for yourself, and often be left standing alone. Difficulties will be faced and overcome through personal struggle.

One of the central lessons for people with the 19 Karmic Debt is that you stubbornly resist help. Much of your independence is actually self-imposed — you simply don’t want to listen to others, or to accept the help or advice of others. The 19 Karmic Debt can become a self-imposed prison if you do not open up to the reality of interdependence and the mutual need for love.

The most important lesson for the 19 Karmic Debt is: while you seek to stand on your own feet, you are still a human being, deeply connected with others and in need of the support, assistance and human understanding that all people need. Sometimes you just need to reach for it.

Wake up with a smile, even if you are still half asleep. There isn’t a greater feeling than acknowledging the beauty of the day. You are blessed in the moment, take gratitude for your time and begin each day’s adventure with appreciation and thankfulness, no matter what your course.

Stay Motivated

Maintaining a state of appreciation does take practice, as the many things that cross our path can alter our emotions and focus. Create a personal mantra that helps to keep your motivation going so that you recognize that sometimes things move in their own time. Stay in the positive, accept what is not ready and keep an attitude of thankfulness that you have been given these opportunities.

When you glow with the light of appreciation, it shines brighter than all around you. You will draw events and people to you that know your inner strength. Things happen for a reason and many times we aren’t sure why, creating your own universe of thankfulness will allow you to continue on your road.

LIVE LIFE WITH PATIENCE

Our social realms are surrounded by immediate gratification. Everything is now and all answers have to show themselves to us. Between our technologies and the requirements that we place ourselves under, we create a condition of complete impatience. To remove the stress and anxiety, begin to practice a state of patience and you will find that everything comes in due time.

There is a Process

If you look around at nature you will realize that there is a process that must be completed. There is a beginning, a growth, and a learning and it often takes more time than we thought. Everything that has value is worth the wait and when you realign your expectations so that it follows the ebb and flow you are blending your understanding with the natural order of things.

Once you join the universal dance you will realize that patience has its rewards. There may be times when the music slows down and the tune begins to waiver. It’s ok to offer a gentle and loving nudge to encourage the movement and allow things to move forward. Air

Remember that old saying, Out with the bad air, in with the good?’ Well, it can actually help you remove negative energy from your body while cleansing your aura. All you need to do is take a few good, deep cleansing breaths.

Start by sitting up straight or standing tall. Inhale to the count of four and then exhale to the count of four. Make sure that you are breathing from the diaphragm rather than the chest. You should notice your belly moving up and down if you are performing this correctly. Continue for about five minutes or until you feel a significant change in your body and mood.

Earth

Ever notice how time spent in nature makes you feel good all over? Walking barefoot in the grass or hugging a tree is especially beneficial. There’s something about connecting with the earth that provides comfort.

The earth has gravitational pull and a frequency all its own. When you connect with the earth it can act like a magnet and suck out the negative energy from your aura.

Essentially it acts like a grounding rod, but instead of absorbing the energy from a lightning strike, it absorbs those bad vibes hanging out in your aura.

THE POWERS OF MOONSTONE

It is associated with the moon (God Chandra), so naturally, it is most powerful on the full moon. Placing the Moonstone in the light of a full moon rejuvenates its power. The energy of the moonstone is balancing and introspective. It is said to stimulate intuition. It represents love, healing and luck. It is considered a talisman of good fortune. It is generally considered a woman’s stone, especially teenagers and young women, and especially those born under the signs of Cancer, Libra, Scorpio and Numerology Number 2.
